Frequently asked questions about how Dr Blender works, pricing, and account management.
Dr Blender is an online music identification service that finds every track in a DJ set, mix or long recording. Paste a link from YouTube, SoundCloud, Mixcloud and 10 other platforms, or upload an MP3, and it returns each identified track with artist, title, album, the timestamp where it plays, and streaming links. It is built for DJs, producers and anyone asking "what song is this in the mix?"
Sign in with Google, open the Blend page, paste the link to the set (or upload the MP3) and submit. Dr Blender scans the whole recording from start to finish with audio fingerprinting and returns a timestamped tracklist that you can open on streaming services or save as a Spotify playlist.
Your first Blend is free: every new account gets one free Blend, which scans one complete mix or file. After that, Blends are pay-as-you-go from $5, with no subscription.
A Blend is one credit that scans one link or one MP3 file in full, however many tracks it contains. If a scan fails, the Blend is returned to your balance automatically. Purchased Blends never expire.
Dr Blender supports YouTube, SoundCloud, Mixcloud, Bandcamp, Audiomack, HearThis.at, TikTok, Instagram, Twitter / X, Reddit, Vimeo, Beatport, Beatsource, and MP3 upload. Spotify, Tidal, Apple Music, Amazon Music and Deezer are not supported because their audio is DRM-protected; paste the same mix's YouTube or SoundCloud link instead. Playlists, channels and live streams can't be scanned — use the link to a single recording.
Mixes and recordings can be up to 2 hours long. Uploads must be MP3 files of up to 100 MB.
Most scans finish in one to two minutes, even for a two-hour set. Links that were already scanned by anyone are answered instantly from our results cache.
For each identified track you get the artist, title and album, the timestamp in your mix where it plays, and links to listen on streaming services. You can also select tracks and export them as a Spotify playlist, or email yourself the tracklist.
Matches are very reliable for commercially released music, because Dr Blender uses audio fingerprinting against large commercial music catalogues and only reports a track when it is detected repeatedly with a high confidence score. Tracks that aren't in those catalogues — promos, white labels, bootlegs, unreleased edits and some live remixes — can go unidentified.
A track can only be identified if it exists in the recognition catalogue. Small-label, promo-only or unreleased tracks are sometimes missing, and a DJ edit, VIP or bootleg can go unmatched even when the original release is known. Every submission is still scanned from start to finish — gaps reflect catalogue coverage, not a partial scan.
No. Dr Blender never keeps your audio: uploads are processed in memory, downloaded audio is deleted as soon as it has been analysed, and only the resulting tracklist is saved. Dr Blender is an identification service, not a download service, and never gives out audio files.
No. Dr Blender identifies tracks; it does not download or distribute music. Use the streaming links in your results to listen to or buy the tracks.
